The 6th World Congress for Neurorehabilitation

The 6th World Congress for Neurorehabilitation (WCNR 2010) attracted delegates from 71 countries and was a huge success. Over 1600 health professionals attended the meeting which met in the historical Congress Centre in the Hofburg, Vienna's former imperial palace.

There was an extensive programme of workshops, 'Meet the Professsor Breakfasts', lectures and symposia covering clinical practice and research with topics ranging from basic science to practical applications. The breadth of content attracted neurorehabilitation clinicians and therapists from all disciplines.

The meeting also attracted a large number of exhibitors including Allergan, Merz and Medtronic who were key sponsors with all three holding satellite symposia. Ipsen, a major sponsor of WFNR, held several practical workshops.

Heinrich Binder, Volker Hoemberg and colleagues expertly organised the Congress. The meeting opened with the 1st Michael P Barnes lecture, which was established in recognition of the visionary leadership and dedication of the founding President.
